Dawn Heusser
Dawn Heusser grew up in a small town in New Jersey and had big dreams. Her mantra was, “I want to make a difference.” After meeting Cori Stern, the founder of The Next Right Thing she decided she was going to help make life better for children in medical need. An athlete all her life, Dawn wants to help give these kids an opportunity to be kids - to feel the joy of a healthy body and a happy heart.
After studying television/film communications and journalism in Pennsylvania, Dawn lived in Hamburg, London, Capetown, Milan and Paris where she studied French and French history at La Sorbonne. Dawn’s media experience and fluency in French allowed her to travel to Togo where she worked with delegates from England, France, and the United States to oversee the African country’s first free elections.
In addition to an active career in film and television, Dawn has worked as an on-camera reporter for Fox Sports where in her first year she won an Emmy for “outstanding sports reporting in Los Angeles.“ After the birth of her daughter, Dawn retired from Fox having earned six Emmy nominations and one statue in just 14 months.
An active athlete, Dawn is a certified scuba diver and has competed in adventure races including New Zealand’s “Southern Traverse” and the French race “Raid Gauloises” in Ecuador. She has also participated in two New York City Marathons and a handful of mini triathlons and 10k’s. She is currently a certified CrossFit instructor, full time mommy and Program Director for The Next Right Thing. |
